The upcoming Catena-X release will be delivered in three phases to support a smooth transition for all participants:

Wave 1 – Preparation phase: Initial steps to prepare systems for the upcoming changes.
Wave 2 – Joint test phase: Details for this phase will be shared as we move forward.
Wave 3 – Go-live in production: Final steps and instructions will be provided ahead of deployment.

To ensure you are well-prepared, here’s a breakdown of actions required for different roles within the data ecosystem:

01 Data Providers and Consumers

To ensure a smooth integration with upcoming service changes, the following steps are recommended:

Wave 1: Preparation phase

  • Upgrade to EDC v0.7.3 (if self-managed): Ensure compatibility and apply required extensions. Earlier versions will no longer be supported.
  • Update Digital Twin Registry to v0.4.3 (if in use and self-managed).
  • Upgrade Item Relationship Service / Trace-X (if in use).
  • Update Simple Data Exchanger (if in use).
  • Adapt data assets, policies and contract definitions to the new standards.
  • Update backend integrations to meet revised requirements.
  • Complete self-assessment for (re-)certification to be shared with your selected operator.
  • Prepare for connectivity and integration tests.
  • Upgrade Knowledge Agent (if in use).
  • Wave 2: Joint test phase

  • Complete self-assessment for (re-)certification.
  • Plan for connectivity and integration tests.
  • Wave 2: Joint test phase
